Almost every decision that costs you money is made in a room with a camera in it. The recordings are public. Most people never find them because they are buried three clicks deep on a government site. Here they are.

These are the government's own recordings on the government's own platforms. We send you there rather than mirroring them, so you are watching the authoritative copy and the view count lands where it belongs. The exception is when a recording disappears — see below.
When a recording goes missing
Meeting video gets taken down. Sometimes it is a retention policy, sometimes a platform migration, sometimes nobody can say why. Either way the public record evaporates, and the one meeting you needed is the one that is gone.
That is why the Foundation's Miami, Oklahoma chapter keeps 522 meetings archived with machine transcripts and captions, mirrored to the Internet Archive. It is the deepest archive we run and the model for every other chapter. See what a full archive looks like →
A meeting with no video, a recording that ends mid-item, a link that used to work — tell us. A missing recording is itself a records request: the city holds the raw file whether or not it publishes it, and we will ask for it.
Getting more out of a meeting recording
- Read the agenda packet first. It usually contains the actual contract or ordinance. The video is people discussing a document you can already have in front of you.
- Note the timestamp of anything that matters. A citation like "14 January, 1:42:10" is something a reporter or an auditor can verify in a minute.
- Watch the vote, not the speech. Who moved it, who seconded, who was absent, and whether it was on a published agenda.
- Executive session is a flag, not a crime. Bodies may close a meeting for defined reasons and must certify which. If a payment or a contract was discussed behind a closed door, the certification is a public record. Ask for it →
